- New International Trade Crossing now has an international board authority to oversee its construction. Canadian Transportation Minister Lisa Raitt and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder made the selections last week. TheStar.com welcomes the news, but hits America’s approach to financing the new crossing that has a go-live date of 2020. Interesting factoid, courtesy of Minister Raitt’s speech: “30 per cent of trade between Canada and the U.S. flowed through Windsor-Detroit last year, accounting for $20 billion in goods hauled by 2.4 million trucks…”
